Artists Communicate

For my piece I created the Eiffel Tower with ebony pencils. The structure is generally intact towards the bottom but at the top it is severely damaged. The barrier around the structure is broken symbolizing a lack of protection and anarchy.

I created this to illustrate the dangers of terrorism in European countries. This shows that even a wonder like the Eiffel Tower isn't even safe. I wish to inform the public of the growing dangers of terrorism and to portray what could happen if we let it go unchecked. The project is generally simplistic in only black and white to induce a gloomy tone among the audience.

I hope this piece gets across the Image I want to convey int he mind of the viewers. That image being the possible destruction that could come to the things that we hold dear and how the symbols of liberty we stand for could become obsolete .
